From February 28 to March 3, 2023, the Network for Education and Research on Peace and Sustainability organized its second annual conference in cooperation with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand. After months of preparation, it was a rewarding experience to see students, researchers and practitioners coming together in one place to talk about pressing issues surrounding peace and sustainability. As one of the co-chairs of the conference, I helped in the conceptualization of the conference’s theme, “Bridging Peace and Sustainability amidst Global Transformations”, and planned the conference agenda. Arranging the papers thematically into parallel sessions was challenging due to the broad concepts of peace and sustainability but we were able to put together a multidisciplinary program that meets the interests of participants from different disciplines and sectors.
